Pediatric Speech Therapy

Now We’re Talking Therapy Services is a pediatric speech, occupational and physical therapy clinic located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. We believe fostering strong relationships with our clients is key to successful and effective therapy.   We believe in going above and beyond for our clients. To us, that includes not just meeting the client’s needs, but also being a continuing resource for them. Using an exceptional evidence based approach to therapy, we serve children with a variety of needs in our clinic or in the natural environment where your child has plenty of room to celebrate being a kid in an environment that encourages activity at your child’s level.

Services are provided in BOTH the clinic and natural environments.

Speech Therapy

Speech and language therapy helps establish the vital skills that are crucial for communication. Our team of speech pathologists and speech pathology assistants work with a variety of disabilities and diagnosis. A comprehensive evaluation by a team member will determine if speech therapy is recommended. Intervention is provided to children currently struggling with apraxia, articulation, Autism spectrum disorders, augmentative communication, fluency disorders, oral motor skills, phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, stuttering, dysphagia and swallowing. We work with children of all ages and ensure the best quality of care by emphasizing your child’s strengths! We pride ourselves on working closely with the family throughout the evaluation, intervention and discharge phase of therapy.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy focuses on difficulties participating in or completing meaningful activities, which is a child’s occupation. Our team of occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants work with a variety of disabilities and diagnosis. A comprehensive evaluation by a team member will determine if occupational therapy would be beneficial. A child’s “occupational” skills involve play, and this therapy focuses on improving their success in everyday activities that require attention, motor coordination, fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual perceptual skills and strength, such as required for cutting with scissors and handwriting. We work with children of all ages and provide the highest level of care by emphasizing your child’s strengths! We pride ourselves on working closely with the family throughout the evaluation, intervention and discharge phase of therapy.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy helps children maximize their physical abilities. Our team of physical therapists and physical therapy assistants work with a variety of disabilities and diagnosis. Following a comprehensive evaluation, if therapy is recommended, intervention will target increasing functional limitations due to a delay, disorder, a disease process, or trauma. This therapy focuses on enhancing reflexes, improving tone, range of motion, and strength, as well as motor skills and functions. Treatment may include improving developmental tasks, motor planning, manipulation skills, balance, and/or coordination. We work with children of all ages and deliver the highest level of care by emphasizing your child’s strengths! We pride ourselves on working closely with the family throughout the evaluation, intervention and discharge phase of therapy.

“We want to thank Now We’re Talking Therapy Services for the positive impact you have had on our family’s lives. Our children have used speech, physical and occupational therapy services and are thriving. As a parent it is comforting to find the right help for your child’s needs. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work, patience and care the therapists have shown our children. This help has been life changing in giving them confidence as they grow and mature.”

“Now We’re Talking has been instrumental in the development and growth of our two children. We have used both their PT and speech services and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The therapists and staff are incredibly knowledgeable, patient and caring. If your child has any developmental delays, don’t hesitate to use their incredible services.”

“I knew that Dominic would need therapies since he was 18 months old, his pediatrician could not refer him to a better place than Now We’re Talking Therapy Services. In this company we not only find therapies, we find support, we find explanations, we find love, his staff is the sweetest most professional there is. It’s facilities are perfectly designed for the needs of children and therapists. My son has a perfect evolution and the most important, he is a Happy Boy! Today after 3 years, my son Dominic and I love every therapist and every therapy day!”

“It’s really hard to put all my gratitude into short sentences but let me try. Having a child with a need can be overwhelming. My daughter was diagnosed at birth with hearing loss and received hearing aids at 5 months old. The roller coaster of doctor visits is steep. Having a qualified SLP such as Stephanie Verba at Now We are Talking by my side makes the incline less stressful. Working with a SLP is crucial for speech development. Stephanie is always consistent, communicates material covered each session and always has an uplifting positive demeanor. She is a very structured SLP targeting areas that need the most attention. My daughter loves her visits with Stephanie! She has no clue she is working towards a goal, to her it is simply getting to play with someone she adores. Being able to work with an organization such as Now We are Talking has taught me so much about speech. I must also give a big high five to Sadie, the furry therapy dog. Nothing sweeter than a loving animal to brighten your child’s day. Over the years I’ve worked with the  public school system and Now We are Talking, there is a deeper connection between parents and SLP outside of a school setting. I highly recommend working with Now We are Talking!”
